We start our 2015 season with the brilliant news that the city has recently been placed firmly on the tourist map of France: not only with the award for the “European Best Destination” – but it has also been voted by the national and international Press as the best place to live and work!

As we relaunch our new-look website, we are happy to Tasting1 announce the opening of many new restaurants and hotels, both in the city and throughout the Aquitaine, further details of which we will post shortly.

From this month, Bonjour Bordeaux will offer wine-tasting lessons in addition to our very popular cookery classes. All are conducted by expert local oenologues and chefs, and clients can be assured of enjoyable hours watching many professional culinary secrets revealed, while learning about and sampling some of the region’s finest wines.

 


 

★ Also new this season will be motor-launch tours along the River Garonne, starting from the quay (or from Pauillac) and stopping for picnics on the Margaux and de Patiras islands; plus cruises on old-style traditional boats around Arcachon Bay.

★ Bordeaux is once again preparing to open its doors to wine professionals everywhere and host its 18th Vinexpo – the international exhibition organised by the world’s premier wine-producing region. This will take place from June 14 to 18

vinexpo imageat the city’s Lac Exhibition Parc, and this year’s event will feature a number of themes, along with a few changes.

For the first time, the restaurants, ideally located on the lakeside, will offer a large choice of international cuisines. Whatever your taste or budget, Vinexpo invites you to taste the flavours of the world!

No corkage will be required from worldwide exhibitors and producers who wish to bring their own bottles to the tables so that they can show their wines to clients while enjoying superb food from top chefs.

This year’s Special Guest country is the USA, and the American culinary presence will feature two totally different cuisines – a Californian-style restaurant and a typical food truck.
